A plus for every dog and cat on today’s modern diet with all the new kinds of foods and treats.
Animals are meant to eat a 100% raw diet... but is that practical? What is the answer for keeping your pet healthy with a modern pet diet?
The answer is...
Total-Zymes® Digestive Enzyme Formula
A high performance broad-spectrum digestive enzyme formula. Total-Zymes® is the most complete pet digestive enzyme product in the world, NOW utilizing 16 high performance vegetarian enzymes , pre-biotics and our exclusive L.E.A.D.S.® Live Enzyme Activated Delivery System®. L.E.A.D.S.® which supports digestion and assimilation of all your pet's food at a cellular level.
NEW! Prebiotics; Pre-biotics to help with implantation of the probiotics in the gut. Pre-biotics- Inulin IQ FOS (Fructooligosaccharides)- one of the best-known pre-biotics, FOS is known to support the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. It has been shown to stimulate growth of bifidobacteria in the colon. Healthy colon function is vital to a properly functioning immune system
Digestive enzymes are very specific. They will only digest the exact food type for which they are named. As an example lipase will digest only lipids or fats as they are commonly called. Lipase will not do anything to digest protein or carbohydrates.
For complete digestion you must include all the different enzymes in a product to digest each type of food ingredient. A digestive product that contains only four, five or six enzymes will do a poor job digesting the complex ingredients of today's high quality pet food.
That's why we at NWC Naturals® Pet Products formulated Total-Zymes® with a special blend of SIXTEEN powerful vegetarian enzymes to completely digest and deliver all the nutrients of today's modern pet diet, with just one scoop of Total-Zymes® per cup of any pet food. In addition we have added 120,000 FCCPU of bromelain from pineapple as a systemic enzyme. Bromelain is a natural systemic enzyme with many uses.
Using Total-Zymes® on your pet's food is as close as you can get to the benefits of an all raw food diet.

More Information
Probiotics are linked to long life.
Probiotics, sometimes called “friendly bacteria,” are beneficial microorganisms that naturally inhabit the digestive system of all mammals.
You already have billions of bacteria living in your gut. Some are harmful but many are beneficial. Keeping a balance between maintaining good health is what we want. Probiotics help with your microbiome, including vitamin production and keeping your immune system healthy.
Probiotic bacteria in our pets bodies are essential to maintaining good health, as proven by many years of scientific research! Normally you have an abundance of friendly bacteria, but certain circumstances can lead to a depletion of these essential microorganisms.
Total-Biotics® is specially formulated with an astounding 14 species of stabilized probiotics, instead of the usual 1 - 6 forms provided in most other products. It also contains over one billion CFUs (colony forming units) in each scoop for maximum protection.
Not all probiotics are alike. Many cheap probiotics are unstable and lose their beneficial properties in the stomach before the probiotics can reach the intestine. Some companies put probiotics in there product that do not implant. We are the experts in this field. The formulator of this product wrote the book "The Wonder of Probiotics".
We use the best probiotics to support your pets microbiome.
You must re-seed the gut with probiotics. Almost always diet and STRESS are contributing to the imbalance of flora. Select the proper products for your pet to rebalance the flora and immune system.
How Many Different Strains Should Be In A Formula?
There are more than 400 probiotics strains naturally occurring in both dogs and people. What determines how many different strains should be in a formula? This depends on how many strains can be added that are stabilized, the more the merrier one to six different strains of probiotics is, just not enough.
Since each strain has its own special job the more different species in a product makes for better colonization. They do not crowd each other out as they all have their own pH they like to live in and implant in that area only.
If you can imagine over 400 different species all coexisting together in nature you can see it's not an issue supplementing with 14 different live stabilized strains.
So, companies claiming that supplementing with anything over 6 different species is not necessary, they are not accurate, they just do not know their science, nor do they understand how nature works.
But why does my pet need so many enzymes?
We have researched many dog and cat foods and treats. Did you know that your pet could be getting added sugars and dairy products? We noticed this trend when we went to the largest pet expo in the U.S., so we added additional enzymes to our already superior formula to handle this trend.
We always advise that you do not give your pets sugar, but there are a lot of hidden sugars and dairy you sometimes do not know about in those cute little doggie and kitty cakes and cookies.
It is very hard for animals to digest cooked and processed food as it is, so this is why we now have 16 enzymes in our Total-Zymes® formula- so your pet can handle any type of treat or food.
Many good pet food companies put a lot of thougt and very good ingredients into their products, but by not digesting it properly, the pet does not get the full benefit out of the food you just spend a lot of money on.
Pancreatic Enzymes or Non-animal Enzymes
Total-Zymes® For Pets does NOT contain any animal based enzymes and here is why:
Supplemental pancreatic, plant, and microbial enzymes are all designed to enhance digestion. However, plant and microbial enzymes use a "pro-active" approach and begin working on foods soon after ingestion. Pancreatic enzymes do not go to work right away. Pancreatic enzymes usually begin working approximately 30 minutes after food reaches the stomach and up to 80% of the enzymes are destroyed in the stomach.
Because of their stability in the acidic environment of the upper stomach, vegetarian enzymes can begin their digestive action immediately after the food reaches this region. With the increased exposure to digestive enzyme activity, food has a better chance of being broken down into small, more readily absorbed particles.
Pancreatic enzymes:
Will not work in the stomach: Their activity is limited to a narrow pH range
Have a delayed effect
Are easily destroyed by acidity of the stomach
Do not break down fiber and certain carbohydrates
May cause side effects
One pancreatin label actually read: High doses may cause diarrhea, cramping, or vomiting. If you observe any of these reactions, contact your veterinarian immediately. If your pet experiences an allergic reaction to the medication, signs may include facial swelling, hives, scratching, sudden onset of diarrhea, vomiting, shock, seizures, pale gums, cold limbs, or coma. If you observe any of these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately. Precautions: Do not use in animals hypersensitive (allergic) to pork products. The powder may irritate or burn the skin on contact. Wash immediately if you get any on your skin or your pet's skin. Wash hands after handling this medication.
Is this something you would give your pet?
Total-Zymes® for Pets does not have any side effects. Safe to use and no warnings on the label.
Every pet can benefit from supplementation with enzymes and probiotics.
Even healthy pets absorption and utilization of nutrients through the use of digestive enzymes and probiotics. By using a supplemental enzyme on your pet’s food you free up their body's digestive system. When enzymes are missing from our pet's food, the full burden of digestion falls on the pet's own digestive system.

Ingredients
Our Probiotics:
Acidophilus: Acidophilus is the most effective pro-biotic strain. Called the "sticker strain," Acidophilus has the ability to actually cling to the intestinal wall without harming it. In fact, it is best known for its ability to move un-disrupted through the stomach and into the intestines where it eats away at the bad bacteria. It is known for reducing the occurrence of constipation and diarrhea, increasing nutrient uptake (especially calcium).
B. bifidum: Is a normal inhabitant of the intestines. Found in large numbers, the numbers of bifidobacteria decrease with age. B. bifidum helps detoxify the intestines and promote regular bowel movements.
Bacillus coagulans: Has been added by the EFSA to their Qualified Presumption of Safety (QPS) list] and has been approved for veterinary purposes by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Center for Veterinary Medicine, as well as by the European Union and is listed by AAFCO for use as a direct fed microbial in livestock production. It is often used in veterinary applications, especially as a probiotic in pigs, cattle, poultry, dog and cats.
L fermentum: is a Gram-positive species of bacterium in the genus Lactobacillus. it is a probiotic that supports the immune response, supports liver health and cholesterol levels.
B. lactis (B. animalis): is a Gram-positive anaerobic rod-shaped bacterium, which can be found in the large intestines of most mammals, including humans. Bifidobacterium animalis and Bifidobacterium lactis were previously described as two distinct species. Presently, both are considered B. animalis with the subspecies Bifidobacterium animalis subspecies animalis and Bifidobacterium animalis subspecies lactis. Both names B. animalis and B. lactis are still used on product labels, as this species is frequently used as a probiotic in pet products.
B. longum: Aids in the cleansing and health of the colon and liver.
L. brevis : is a species of lactic acid bacteria, all of which are Gram-positive, non spore forming organisms whose main metabolic pathway involves fermenting hexose sugars to produce lactic acid. L. brevis can be isolated from the food sources in inhabits, one example being kimchi. This bacteria is probiotic, and supports the immune system.
L. casei: Is known for its ability to support a healthy immune response that is helpful in supporting a healthy urinary tract.
L. plantarum: Can be found in naturally fermented foods. It is found in the large intestine where it helps to break down protein into usable nutrients.
L helveticus: Is gaining also importance as health-promoting culture in probiotics. It has the potential to produce bioactive peptides or bacteriocins, and exert symbiotic effect when associated with prebiotics.
Lactococcus lactis: Has been shown through research to produce a high amount of lactic acid, which is able to support a good gut and a normal intestinal flora.
L. reuteri: Provides natural probiotic support for the intestines. Is a well-studied probiotic bacterium that can colonize many mammals.
E. faecium: Provide several benefits to a pet including aiding digestion and helping to maintain a healthy mix of bacteria in the stomach (which can be helpful when switching diets or after anti-biotic treatment).
L. Bulgaricus: Is one of several bacteria used for the production of yogurt. It is also found in other naturally fermented products.
The other ingredients in Total-Biotics®
Pre-biotics- Inulin IQ FOS (Fructooligosaccharides)-Chickory Root is one of the best-known all natural pre-biotic, FOS is known to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. Our List of Our 16 Enzymes in Total-Zymes®:
Protease 6.0; Is used to break down proteins to peptides. It will not digest protein to amino acids. A second enzyme is necessary for that to happen.
Protease 3.0; Is used to break down proteins in a different PH range.
Protease 4.5; Is used to break down proteins in a different PH range then the other two.
Peptidase; Help digest protein molecules. Four varieties of protease enzymes have been combined in this formula to compensate for higher protein diets of pets.
Amylase; An enzyme that breaks down sugars and starches. Good for those hidden sugars in pet treats. And helps digest corn, potatoes, rice ect.
Alpha-Galactosidase; This enzyme breaks down carbohydrates, such as vegetables, whole grains. It can help support normal gas.
Beta-Glucanase; This enzyme is used to breakdown carbohydrates, specifically starches.
Diastase; Sometimes called maltase is an enzyme that is the catalyst in the hydrolysis of disaccharide maltose to the simple sugar form - glucose.
Lipase; Will digest lipids or fats as they are commonly called. Lipase is critical to digest that fat in the diet that supports a healthy coat and skin.
Cellulase; Works on Cellulose, an indigestible fiber found in many fruits and vegetables.
Pectinase; Breaks down fruit and vegetable pectins and and facilitates the transportation of waste. A much needed enzyme for your pet. Your pet gets heavy metal build up just like we do, this enzyme helps rid your pet of theses metals.
Phytase; Breaks down carbohydrates, specifically phytates in plants. It can increase mineral absorption and the bio-availability of iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium. A needed enzyme to help digest pet food with potatoes or carrots ect. Some companies say you do not need this very important enzyme it was put into the formula because pet foods do have carbohydrates and this enzyme helps properly digest them.
Hemicellulase; Is used to breakdown carbohydrates, especially polysaccharides such as hemicelluloses, which are found in plant foods.
Bromelain; Is most notable for supporting the body as a systemic enzyme. As a natural systemic enzyme with many uses.
NEW! Lactase; Helping digest, Lactose and milk sugars. Lactase is required to break down lactose (a primary sugar found in mammalian milk). Also to help digest yogurt, milk products and cheese.
NEW! Glucoamylase; Is used to breakdown carbohydrates, specifically polysaccharides, simple sugars. Many new dog treats have hidden sugar.
NEW! Prebiotics; Pre-biotics to help with implantation and growth of the good guy bacteria in the gut. Directions
Total-Biotics® and Total-Zymes® SUGGESTED USE:
One scoop (approximately 625 mg) of each product per cup of pet food. A free scoop is inside every can of Total-Biotics® and Total-Zymes®
Total-Biotics® to balance your dog or cats microbiome
When you use Total-Biotics® on your pets’ food you can double the normal amount two too scoops per cup of pet food fed, to help get the natural gut balance reestablished and under control. That is two scoops of Total-Biotics® per cup of food, every time you feed your pet.
Directions for raw fed pets
Assuming that you are feeding only 100% raw meat with no potatoes, rice or vegetables that needs to be cooked. What I recommend for raw fed dogs or cats is this. Cut the amount of Total-Zymes® to ¼ to ½ scoops per cup of raw food. The benefit is, Total-Zymes® will replace the enzymes lost in freezing and handling of the meat. Then the enzymes over and above what is needed to digest the food will be used systemically to help support the body systemically.
Total-Biotics® on the other hand should be doubled to two scoops per cup of raw food. This will insure your pet’s intestinal tract will remain well populated with probiotics.
We have many raw fed dog and cats that are thriving on this adjusted amount of Total-Zymes® and Total-Biotics®

FAQ
TOTAL-ZYMES ® FAQ
1. What are enzymes?
Enzymes are products that either begin or enhance the speed of chemical reactions. Present in the cells of plants and animals, they regulate biochemical reactions in both active and inactive forms. They are specific with respect to their functions and do only that which they were designed to do.
2. Why use non-animal produced enzymes over animal/pancreatic enzymes?
The non-animal Vegetarian enzymes are more pure, very proactive, and react faster within their specific task. Animal/pancreatic enzymes, although designed to react the same way, may cause several negative reactions. This is due to the fact they may bring with them inherently non-compatible elements from their originations to your pet. These products generally carry a warning label regarding possible side effects from their use.
3. Why TOTAL-ZYMES®?
The pet market place is rife with products to aid in issues of every kind. As with most things, you usually do get what you pay for. Unfortunately, many products will use ingredients that will help in those issues, yet they do not put a enough to really help. This does not mean they won’t help at all, but they may not help enough. Other products may use very good amounts of a couple of items, and compromise elsewhere. At NWC Naturals Pet Products, we decided to use every element necessary for complete digestion any food your pet may consume. We also made sure we put more than enough to do the task completely. In addition, the body could lose minerals from itself when this process of enzyme activity takes place, so we added our L.E.A.D.S®. system of minerals so the process would be complete unto itself, without taking minerals away from your pets’ body. We have also used the best prime sourced ingredients so as not to compromise our product performance. Compare Enzyme Products, we are the only one with 16 plant-based enzymes.
4. Is Human Grade better for my pet?
It's not only the high-quality ingredients but the way they are manufactured. All our pet products are formulated for pets and their specific needs. When formulating our enzymes, we looked at over 100 different pet foods on the market. With our expertise we developed a product that is far superior than the rest. And yes, because it is made in a GMP certified human grade manufacturer, so if you wish, you too can taste it with the same confidence you have with our human products. The ingredients in Total-Zymes® are AAFCO approved. So, you know you are getting the best for your dog are cat.
Only a facility that produces human supplements, undergoes the inspections and approval necessary to have genuine human grade status and therefore, a pet food or supplement must be made in such a plant in order to be called 'human grade'.
The FDA and USDA are responsible for regulating human foods and supplements determining 'edible' status. In order to be allowed to produce human foods and supplements, a manufacturing facility undergoes far more frequent and detailed inspections by these and other agencies, compared with the inspection that a pet food plant undergoes.
GMP certified. All of our products are made in a factory that is GMP certified and only human grade raw materials are used. Many pet products do not receive this certification. With other brands you can never be sure if your pet is really getting the best. At best, you're just wasting money on an ineffective product.
5. How does Total-Zymes® for Pets take the stress off my pets’ pancreas?
The primary benefits of enzymes is in shifting a portion of the digestive burden from the pancreas to using the Vegetarian enzymes in the stomach and intestinal tract. This simulates the enzymes that are contained in raw food. Continued supplementation over a period of days activates a feedback system to the pancreas, signaling it to decrease production of its enzymes because they are not necessary in as large of amounts. This allows the pancreas, to conserve its cellular machinery for production of insulin and glucagon; which are important in blood glucose maintenance. Thus, helping take the stress of the pancreas.
6. Constipation in my dog or cat. Can probiotics and enzymes help?
Total-Biotics® and Total-Zymes® for pets can help support a normal good bowel movement. Probiotics are responsible for controlling the moisture content of the bowels. With the supplementation of probiotics this will help let things move along. This is not a laxative effect but is part of the natural balance of the colon. Digestive enzymes will help digest the food in the stomach liquefying it and let it move along easily while getting all the nutrition possible out of that food.
7. Are there possible side effects of Probiotics and Enzymes in pets?
Probiotics and or enzymes sometimes can cause nausea or vomiting. When the health of an animal has been compromised for some time, things can start out worse before getting better. This happens in a few pets. Just like people they can have a "cleansing" or a "healing crisis". Experiencing digestive upset with probiotics or enzymes can be related to feeding of a poor-quality commercial pet food that is hard to break down and digest. What happens is the food you feed your pet moves slowly through the intestines allowing some fecal plaque to adhere to your dog's intestinal walls. Once it gets a toehold, it may thicken over time. Even fairly young animals can experience some blockage as a result of this build up. Probiotics and enzymes will slowly begin to dissolve the fecal matter, and during this clearing/cleansing process, pathogens and microbes that were covered up with layers of fecal matter will be exposed and can cause episodes of diarrhea or vomiting. Depending on the buildup, it may take a few months before it is completely removed. To help restore your animal's health and happiness we suggest a healthier, more digestible diet and reducing the dosage of probiotics and enzymes to a level tolerated by your animal, building back up gradually as your animal begins to feel better. Think of it as a food change. Pet owners agree to change a food, you never change it cold turkey. You should gradually change the food from food A to food B. Even though food A and food B are both great quality, a rapid change can cause some stomach upset. It’s the same with probiotics and enzymes. In 80% of pets they have no bad reaction introducing probiotics and enzymes. But think of it like a food change. Going from a meal that digests only part way, to using enzymes and getting 100% digestion, the pet may react like it’s a food change. In this case just like changing a food, go slower adding enzymes and probiotics until the pet’s system adjust to higher levels of delivered nutrition. Within a few days or weeks, the full amount of enzymes and probiotics can be added to the diet for maximum benefit.
8. Why does my pet’s stool get smaller with enzymes?
A dog or cats’ digestive system is designed to process only raw food, primarily meat. In the wild no dog or cat would Bar-B-Que their food. Cats and dogs’ digestive systems are short, and food eaten should have a relatively short transit time. Raw food contains all the enzymes needed to digest itself, thus it digests quickly and completely resulting in a small stool. Kibble canned, or other cooked food is lacking the enzymes to digest quickly or completely. When Total-Zymes® is added to cooked food the food is properly digested quickly and efficiently resulting in smaller stools and better health.
9. What if I feed my pet Raw Food?
Assuming that you are feeding only 100% raw meat with no potatoes, rice or vegetables that needs to be cooked. What I recommend for raw fed dogs is this. Cut the amount of Total-Zymes® to ½ scoop per cup of raw food. The benefit is, Total-Zymes® will replace the enzymes lost in freezing, grinding, storing and handling of the meat. Then the enzymes over and above what is needed to digest the food will be used systemically to support the body. Those enzymes will also work on digesting environmental pollen, dander, dust mite feces and more. These enzymes will also breakdown the protein in flea bite saliva that can cause discomfort for the pet.
Total-Biotics® on the other hand should be doubled to two scoops per cup of raw food. This will insure your pet’s intestinal tract will remain well populated with good probiotics. Because the meat is not a fresh kill, like it would be in the wild, (a squirrel or rabbit) and has been handled in a commercial meat packing plant the possibility of bacterial contamination is greater. Remember freezing does not kill bacteria. Total-Biotics® supports the natural gut balance by seeding with more probiotics.
We have many raw fed dogs and cats that are thriving on this adjusted addition of Total-Zymes® and Total-Biotics® to their raw food
10. What is AAFCO:
AAFCO: The People Behind Animal Feed and Pet Food
The Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) is a voluntary membership association of local, state and federal agencies charged by law to regulate the sale and distribution of animal feeds and animal drug remedies.
So, what does this mean for you as a pet owner? Each ingredient is looked at and is safe for your pet’s consumption. Total-Zymes® has all AAFCO ingredients.

So, companies claiming that supplementing with anything over 6 different species is not necessary, they are not accurate, they just do not know their science, nor do they understand how nature works.
10. Why is the Quality Seal from NASC so important?
The NASC quality seal is an excellent way to identify a product that comes from a responsible supplier. To earn permission to display this seal on their products, a supplier must pass a comprehensive facility audit every two years, maintain ongoing compliance with rigorous NASC quality requirements, and pass random independent product testing to ensure products meet label claims.
Not All supplements are created equal. Similar ingredients don’t mean similar quality. Look for the NASC Quality Seal on supplement labels to find companies that comply with the industry’s highest standers. As seen in Animal Wellness magazine.
